The old tree is not transplanted, but fate abandoned the author to America at retirement age. As a result, journalist Eduard Govorushko has already spent more than a quarter of his life in the United States. In the new conditions, however, the old tree did not dig. The author admits that he deliberately abandoned the Welefer (a manual that most elderly immigrants receive in America) Being under the wing of his daughter with a son -in -law, he used only her moral support, taking from her, as they say, not fish, but fishing rods. The goal was to remain self -sufficient and remain in his favorite profession. Making mainly by physical labor, he collaborated with American Russian newspapers, the author sent correspondence to Riga and Moscow publications in which he worked before emigration. And he wrote books.
The book that you hold in your hands is about the experience of American life, written by a man from the past, from a country that is no longer on the map, but which still remains in the soul and heart of the author. The work is sincere and honest, almost intimate, and therefore, I think, they will not get involved with it
