The book is dedicated to the Armed formations of the SS, known as the SS troops - their creation, development and use. Of all aspects of the SS activity, the history of the SS troops is the area that most often becomes the object of falsification. This process began already in the 1950s and especially actively in the last 20 years. On the one hand, in Germany, it is constantly being exaggerated - and quite successfully - the topic “Soldiers like everyone else” (that is, that the soldiers of the SS troops as a whole were no different from the Wehrmacht soldiers - they simply wore a different uniform), on the other - it was the numerous troops that belonged to the SS troops National formations (Latvian, Estonian, Ukrainian), whose veterans in a number of countries today are positioned as fighters for the freedom of their countries.
