The monographs discuss the theoretical, methodological and historical foundations of the study of the system of Russian law, the history of Soviet discussions on this issue is given in detail, and a comparative analysis of doctrinal approaches to the system of law and foreign countries, including in the post-Soviet space. The levels of systemic organization of legal matter, namely the branches of law and institutions of law, the processes of differentiation and integration of structural formations as a reflection of the dynamics of the law system are investigated. Particular attention is paid to the poorly studied aspects of the criteria for the formation of sectors in the system of Russian law, the practice of identifying the so-called new sectors in the system of law is summarized, and ways to get out of the emerging theoretical and methodological crisis in the application of the criteria of industry formation. The problems of the current stage of the study of the system of law are indicated, questions are raised that could become the subject of a wide discussion of the scientific community in the framework of a possible new discussion about the system of Russian law, which would continue the traditions of three Soviet discussions. The book is intended for scientists, teachers, graduate students, lawyers - practical workers and everyone who is interested in the problems of the system of law and Russian law as a whole
