Henry Brugash (1827-1894) is an outstanding German historian and archaeologist, whose research played a huge role in the study of the history of Ancient Egypt. In 1853, Brugsch headed the archaeological expedition to Egypt, in 1864 he was appointed Prussian consul in Cairo, in 1870-1879 he headed the school of Egyptology in Cairo.
