Gregory, Bishop of Tursky, later called the Herodotus of the Barbar, is a medieval historian of the second half of the VI century. He begins his history of the Frankish kingdom from the creation of the world and leads it until the summer of 591. Gregory of Tursky collected valuable material reflecting the life of various layers of the Merovingian society, and created a bright, sometimes complete drama, a kind of chronicle of people of that era.
