The state of transition and meanings of history

This book is devoted to one of the fundamental problems of historical science - the study of European historical science for almost two millennia and ultimately the process of forming history as humanitarian discipline in Western Europe from the early Middle Ages to the present day. The paths, methods and forms of the continuity of its traditions, as well as the inextricable interconnection of local historical cultures that form the Western European community, are analyzed. The novelty of the study conducted by us consists in the significance of the study of the formation of modern historical science in the framework of a single European tradition of historical science of the 5th - 21st centuries
