The book reveals the social history of Scythian society in comparison with the social history of other Indo -European peoples and ancient nomads of Eurasia. The general patterns of the emergence and functioning of nomadic societies, the formation of classes and the state, the relationship of nomads and farmers are investigated. A new periodization of the history of nomadicism in Eurasia is proposed. Much attention is paid to the study of the general theoretical problems of nomadicity and early class societies.
