The book of the Doctor of Historical Sciences Gleb Abramovich is dedicated to Shuisky - one of the oldest Russian clans, who throughout his history did not leave claims to stand at the head of the country. The life of outstanding representatives of the clan is described, their rivalry with the great Moscow princes, and later - relationships with kings Ivan the Terrible, Fedor, Boris Godunov and with the impostor, the first False Dmitry. Among the Shuisky, who came from Andrei Yaroslavich, the brother of Alexander Nevsky, there were many worthy people, but the irony of the fate of the throne was not the best of their representative and not at the best moment for this. The king’s crowned by the king, Vasily Shuisky, was known as an outstanding intrigue, but did not have properly a state mind or a solid character. Having set up everyone and everything against himself, he ingloriously died in Polish captivity, and after a quarter century he ceased to exist the clan of the Shuisky princes.
