This book opens up a series of essays, which traces the origin, emergence and development of law as the most important system of regulating interpersonal and social relations and one of the sources of power.
In the first essay, the author appears to the circle of problems related to the origin of law, starting with the formation of the first social control mechanisms - customs and before the tendencies to their gradual isolation from the general cultural context to the legal sphere. The essay is based on the analysis of the monuments of ancient Mesopotamia, Egypt, China and India that have reached us.
The book is equipped with applications in which written evidence of the origin of law translated into Russian is presented in Russian.
