In the work of the doctor of historical sciences A.Yu. The captivity was considered the ethno -national aspect of the history of the Red Army from the moment of its founding in 1918 until the end of the Great Patriotic War. The basis of the source base was the archival materials identified by the author and first introduced into scientific circulation. Particular attention is paid to accounting systems that allowed us to study those sectors of the construction of the domestic armed forces in which the ethnicity of personnel was important. Among them are the problems of the organizational structure of military units, the acquisition of troops by personnel, the training of national personnel of the commanding staff and others. Therefore, the book has many numbers, tables, diagrams that helped to reveal the trends and patterns of ethno -national processes in Soviet military construction.
