Alexey Alexandrovich Martynov (1818-1903) - Russian architect, archaeologist and restorer, author of a number of works on the history of architecture and Moscow. He came from the noble family, the son of the caretaker of the Little Russian rich house. The brother of the artist and the Moscow Veda N. A. Martynov. In 1833-1840 he studied at the Moscow Palace Architectural School. In 1841 he was appointed to the post of architects assistant to the Moscow Palace Office. In the same year, under the leadership of K. A. Ton, he participated in the construction of the Greater Kremlin Palace. During this period, Martynov prepared a number of works on the history of ancient Moscow buildings, which brought him wide fame. In 1850, in parallel to the service in the Moscow Palace Office, he was determined by the architect in the Second Moscow Cadet Corps, where he served until 1856. In 1851 he was awarded the Demidov Prize of the Academy of Sciences
