The monograph considers the complex of problems of representing higher political power in medieval France for a long time that is relevant for modern historical science for a long time: from the late-roling period to the end of the centenary war. The study was built on the analysis of various sources (coronation ORDines, legislative documents and acts, legal, political, historical and theological treatises, registers and inventories of the abbey), including the protocols of the inauguration ceremonies of the French monarchy, thanks to the involvement of which it was possible to consider the results of its publication legal function. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of the symbols and images of power, as well as the formation and development of the royal cult, the experience of understanding its sacred nature until the era of absolutism, matrimonial strategies and the transformation of the French model outside the kingdom.
