Many books have been written about the last days of the Russian imperial family, but this one is one of the most unusual. Its author is the famous Russian poet of the Silver Age Alexander Blok, the creator of the poem "Twelve", one of the most fiery supporters of the revolution.
In 1917, Alexander Blok became one of the co -authors of the report of the Extraordinary Commission on the Affairs of the former Tsarist Ministers. Huge documentary material passed through his hands: these were the affairs of all ministries of the Russian Empire over the past 10-15 years, documents selected during searches or submitted by witnesses and accused, as well as a huge number of negotiations on direct wires.
The report was completely published only ten years later, but the block used many documents for his own book about Nicholas II and the last three months of his power, published in 1918-1921.
This is the first illustrated publication of the book of Alexander Blok, supplemented by comments, unique inserts to the text, reproductions, photos and caricatures from Russian and Western magazines of 1916-1921, allowing to fully feel the spirit and nature of that turning point for Russia
