The book of reflections on Russian literature of the twentieth century by the editor -in -chief of the Almanac “Tula” Sergei Ovchinnikov, one of the most active ascetics of modern culture of Russia. This is not a textbook, now not fashionable anti -scientific fermentation of the mind about writers and events of the past century. The book includes articles about the ingenious Marina Tsvetaeva and Boris Pasternak, about the whole era of the development of Tula literature to Leo Tolstoy, about one of the largest recent criticism of Leo Anninsky, absolutely unexpectedly, about the poet and rock musician Igor Talkov and the writer Anatoly Kuznetsov. A peculiar core of the narrative was the historical article “Near Tolstoy”, which incorporated information about several centuries of the development of literature on Tula land. The author shows what amazing circle of creative intelligentsia is generated around the Tolstoy estate. It seems that she is the beginning of the whole creative in life.
