The book is written at a high theoretical level with the involvement of a huge number of sources. This book is the first part of the volume dedicated to the events of the last third of the 19th century, the contemporary of which is the author. Hence the huge array of material and the complexity of its processing and evaluation.
The first three chapters of this volume are dedicated to the sixties, with the Franco-German war ending the previous period and opening the new one. In these three chapters, the order of presentation is not according to countries, but according to general phenomena. From the fifth to the eleventh (inclusive) chapter, the presentation goes through the countries and covers the seventies: two chapters (V - VI) are devoted to France, two (VII - VIII)? - Germany, under one? - England (IX), Italy (X ) and Austria-Hungary (XI) For the transition from the seventies to the eighties, chapter XII serves as a international character in general phenomena.
