The history of the Russian fleet in illustrations. Uniforms and weapons

We offer the attention of readers a number of studies on the history of the Navy of the Russian Empire, which were written at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries by leading specialists in this field. First of all, we are talking about the “brief history of the Russian fleet” - F.F. Cheerful. This work was published more than once in the USSR and in modern Russia, but only in the 1939 editorial office - heavily abbreviated. This book provides the full text of this two -volume publication, which saw the light in 1893 and 1895. It also contains fragments of the book “Whether we need a fleet and its significance in the history of Russia” P.I. Belaveven and four readings “On the Russo-Japanese War at Sea” N.N. Beklemishev, read at meetings of the military and sea departments of the Imperial Russian Technical Society in October 1906. Selected works are illustrated by rare cards, documents, engravings and photos that transmit the atmosphere of the described period
