The history of Jews in Russia

The attention of readers is proposed to the book of the historian, philosopher and teacher T.B. GILILKMAN, dedicated to the history of Jews in Russia and covering the period from the end of the 18th century to the first half of the 90s of the XIX century. The book describes the legal and economic situation of Jews in Russia of that time, their participation in revolutionary movements, and the policy of the tsarist government in relation to them is considered. A separate chapter is devoted to the cultural life of Jews in pre -revolutionary Russia.
A book, written in the late 1930s, was not published during the life of the author and for a long time existed in the form of a manuscript. Nevertheless, in our time, it will cause interest both among specialists --- historians, social scholars, political scientists, and in a wide range of readers
