This edition presents the main ideas and concepts set forth in the fundamental work of the famous Slavist, philosopher and culturalist E. Kostin "West and Russia. Phenomenology and the meaning of enmity "(St. Petersburg: Aletheya, 2021) The author offers the experience of the guide, or synopsis, in which various approaches and theoretical provisions of almost 1000-page work are reduced to a number of key theses and statements. The reader appears to the abbreviated "scenario" of the book, recreating the content and the main meanings of the "West and Russia" without taking into account the diverse historical, historical, cultural, philosophical nuances and the list of concomitant argumentation.
The book may interest the reader, immersed in the problems of the formation and development of Russian civilization, but considers excessive scrupulous scientific rationale for the theses put forward. This is a reasonable alternative for the reader saving his time
