The food market of Petrograd - Leningrad period of the NEP period

The monograph for the first time in historiography provides a comprehensive study of the food market of the largest city center of Soviet Russia of Petrograd-Leningrad during the New Economic Policy (1921-1928)
The authors explore the problems of providing citizens with the main food products, the structure of food and food preferences of the city’s inhabitants, and the change in demand for products. Particular attention is paid to the plots related to the development of a catering system, the functioning of the bazaar, store, and laureal food and drinks and drinks are considered. An important place in the book is given a completely new topic for historiography-the problems of monitoring the sanitary and epidemiological situation in the city.
This study based on a wide range of various sources (regulatory legal acts, unpublished archival documents, statistical collections, periodicals, diaries and memoirs of contemporaries of the described events) should be interesting to both specialists and a wide circle of reading public
