Moscow-Lithuanian border wars of the late XV-first third of the XVI century. We hacked the geopolitical situation of Eastern Europe. The book is dedicated to the least studied - the first of them. It determined the strategy of relations between neighboring states, the ideology of the Russian state, which proclaimed the program for collecting Russian lands.
The author applied a historical and geographical approach to sources, drawing conclusions about the course of hostilities, their orientations, determining the territorial losses, the regions of the next conflict. Military operations revealed the border - the first line of defense of the GDL, attention to its configuration and terrain made it possible to understand the plans of the parties.
For the first time, the methods of conducting war were analyzed - intimidation of the population, suppressing trade, collisions, weakening of power centers, attracting local princes, seizures and colonization of land, combat operations occupied a subordinate place. A complex international and internal situation did not allow the war openly, giving it a "strange" character
