In the book proposed by the reader about the already distant events of the First World War, attempts are made to answer two questions: could Germany adequately withdraw from the war without reparations and disarmament and could the Kaiser overthrow the Soviet government in the summer of 1918, providing effective support to anti -communist movements in Russia? We answer positively to both questions, simultaneously looking for answers to another: why didn’t this happen? The work is an overview of events in the diplomatic, domestic, social and military spheres of Germany’s life in late 1917 - early 1919. The events that were not sufficiently studied in Russia related to the communist rebellion in Berlin of January 1919 are separately examined in the context of German ultralevic contacts with Russian Bolsheviks At the end of the First World War. Much attention was paid to the work of the German armed struggle against Western allies in France in March-November 1918 in order to cover the issue of influence of the Brest-Lithuanian world on a common military situation in Europe
