Research of the village and. n. A. A. Mikhailov is dedicated to the life of the "military" Pskov in the XIX - early XX centuries. The first chapter tells about the emergence and activities of the Pskov Cadet Corps (1882-1918), which earned the glory of one of the best military educational institutions of the country, the educational and educational work, the fate of the most outstanding graduates and teachers were analyzed in detail. The second chapter illuminates the history of military units that were located in the Pskov province or had long -standing historical ties with it. The third chapter tells about two glorified military dynasties - Kulnevs and Schilders. On the example of Pskov material, the author reveals many patterns in the development of the armed forces of imperial Russia as a whole.
