In the second half of the VI volumes of the Russian "Cambridge History of the Ancient World" (dedicated to the history of the 4th century BC), the following thematic reviews are represented: society and economics, a policy and its alternatives, philosophical and rhetorical schools, medicine, the development of art, and military affairs . Next are chapters with historical narrative: the political history of Sicily from 367 to 330 BC. e., Macedonia and the formation of its hegemony in Greece (Philip Macedonian) and, finally, the last two large chapters are devoted to the history of Alexander the Great. At the end of the volume, a chronological table, an exhaustive bibliography and a “pointer ", which has an independent meaning: thanks to its volume and analytical structure, it can apply for the role of reference books on the history and culture of the 4th century.
