This book is about Soviet scientists who lived in a difficult period of history-the 1920-1930s. Based on a wide range of sources, many of which are first introduced into scientific circulation, the author answers a number of significant questions. How did the situation of scientists change in the study period and what became this reason? What social groups came to the scientific community and how did they interact with each other? What was the difference between the position of doctors from historians and why were the latter more loyal to power? Was the role of the ideological factor and the meaning of the party card was so great, as is often judged by this? How did the public role of the scientist have changed, the social request for the profession in the difficult period of the formation of Soviet science? And finally, what role did science play in Soviet society and how do changes affect its current state?
The book is addressed to all the history of science, the history of Russia of the Soviet period, and social history - primarily a scientific community. The author hopes for the relevance of a book for students and graduate students
