The collection of documents prepared for the publication "Connection of Crimea to Russia. 1783-1796 " Reflects the role of Crimea in the history of Russia and covers the main measures for the economic development of the peninsula, its adaptation with the Russian political, social and managerial systems in the first years after the attachment of the peninsula.
The collection includes documents of the Russian State Archive of ancient acts (RGADA) The main part of the published materials was not previously introduced into scientific circulation, which complicated an objective analysis of political and socio-economic processes in the territory of Crimea after its collection of the Russian Empire. This publication aims to expand the scientific community on the development of the Crimean Peninsula, the organization of administrative-territorial division, the creation of local authorities and the formation of their states from representatives of the local population. Materials characterize the policy of the Russian administration in relation to the Tatar population, measures to increase the population of Crimea. A number of documents reflects measures to create a network of roads, the construction of new and reconstruction of existing cities, the creation of the Black Sea Fleet, as well as the development of fertile Crimean lands and the introduction of new agricultural crops and plants. A special place is occupied by documents on the preparation and progress of Catherine II to Taurida.
The collection opens the manifesto on April 8, 1783 on the accession of Crimea to the Russian Empire and documents of a diplomatic nature related to its publication. Of particular interest are materials about the construction of Sevastopol as the base of the Black Sea Fleet, state policy regarding the population of Crimea, the development of gardening, viticulture and park art. The book provides such documents as, for example, "report V.V. Kakhovsky Prince G.A.
