The book of the famous St. Petersburg writer Evgeny Lukin “Tanks for Moscow”, dedicated to the first Chechen war, is largely autobiographical. It covers the period from August 6, 1996, when the city of Grozny was captured by Chechen militants during the Jihad operation, until October 17, 1996 - the day of the declaration of the resignation of General A.I. Swan, who was a guarantor of peace agreements signed in Khasavyurt on August 22, 1996. The prototypes of some characters of the story became real historical persons with whom the author - a participant in the hostilities - was reduced by fate on the military roads of the Caucasus
