During and immediately after the end of the Battle of Stalingrad, a group of Soviet historians, members of the Commission on the History of the Great Patriotic War, began to record evidence of the participants in the battle (military and civilians, generals and ordinary citizens, large leaders and ordinary citizens) Thanks to these transcripts, the living voices of those who broke the course of World War II have survived. About a hundred such evidence presented in this documentary allow us to understand how Soviet citizens perceived the war and their role in it, to what extent their perception was the result of purposeful political propaganda and campaigning, and in which it was based on personal experience. Thematic installation and historical contextualization, theoretical introduction and factual comments that conceptually formalize this material not only introduce new archival sources into scientific circulation, but also make a noticeable contribution to both the study of the history of the Great Patriotic War and comparative studies of the Second World War.
