The main work of A. Solzhenitsyn "Archipelago Gulag" shows the horrors of the Stalinist camps. The book of historian Mikhail Morukov is also devoted to this topic and covers the whole era in Soviet history (from the summer of 1929 to the spring of 1945), when the Gulag system was created.
