In the middle of the 20th century, Africa was one of the important "objects" of the post -war redistribution of the world and the arena of the global confrontation of the two superpowers - the USSR and the USA. The value of the continent was determined by the economic and geopolitical interests of the leading countries. The most active activity of the Soviet Union in Africa was in the late fifties and early sixties of the twentieth century. It is associated with the decolonization of Africa and the emergence of a number of new states that have become important objects of confrontation between the West and the USSR. Among them were: Angola, Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Ethiopia, Guinea, Somalia, Ghana and other countries. On the military-technical assistance of the Soviet Union, some African states will be discussed in this book
