The book of an employee of the Institute for Strategic Studies of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Serbia, Colonel, Doctor of Historical Sciences Dalibor Denda is a generalizing work on the history of the Serbian military organization in the XIX and first two decades of the twentieth century.
Seven chronologically-thematic chapters-from the 1st Serbian uprising (1804-1813) to the wars of 1912-1918. - They correspond to the key stages of the development of the armed forces that have passed the evolutionary path from the People’s Army to the Best Small Army of the era of the Great War. Particular attention is paid to the selection and training of the command staff, as well as the development of a military doctrine and command systems. The author traces the Russian influence on the development of the Serbian army, as well as Russian-Serbian military communications.
