Volume 5 is the 3rd, supplemented, publication of the author of the author "Ethnology and Politics". The first two were published in the publishing house "Science" in 2001 and 2005, respectively.
This volume includes the most important articles of both a journalistic nature and from scientific journals. They reflect the role of the ethnic factor in the dramatic period of the history of the Russian state of the last three decades, including the collapse of the USSR and the formation of the new Russian Federation.
Interests are of conceptual searches in solving the problems of state construction and management in the field of ethno-national policy, assessing social transformations and crisis problems of the late 1980s-1990s.
The author’s scientific developments have put forward a number of fundamental provisions and theoretical innovations about the nature of the ethnicity phenomenon, the basics of the structure of multi -ethnic states, the principles of approval of nation -based on a civilian basis and the state structure of multinational Russia, on the strategy and mechanisms of national policy. The author analyzes the nature of nationalism, separatism and extremism, ways to prevent conflicts and violence, gives original assessments of social transformations in Russia from the point of view of socio-cultural anthropology.
