Volume 1 is the 2nd edition of the book published in the publishing house Science in 1978. The monograph was the first study in the Russian scientific literature on the new history of Canada and is devoted to the nodal issues of the historical development of this country during the period of English colonial domination.
Based on the use of a wide range of sources, including archival ones, the work is considered the prerequisites, the main stages, driving forces, forms and nature of the Canadian liberation movement, the nature of the Franco-Canadian National question is revealed. Much attention is paid to the coverage of the largest event in the history of Canada - the anti -colonial revolution of 1837, which led to the formation of an independent Canadian state.
