Before you, dear reader, a book dedicated to favoritism in the highest spheres of state power of Russia. It tells about the favorites and ado of Russian sovereigns, as well as the favorites and mistresses of Russian sovereigns. The author did not pay much attention to the monarchs to the alcohol relations, but aimed at finding an answer to a number of the most important questions: what people and why became the favorites of the rulers of Russia? How did they manage to find themselves at the throne? How did they manifest themselves in historical conditions, which of them and what influence had on the policy of the state, on its economy, what contribution made to the development of the country or to protect it from external enemies? And, finally: how did the favorites and favorites affect the cultural development of Russia and how did favoritism in the Russian throne differ from favoritism at the royal courtyards of Western Europe?
