Otto Skorzeny, Obersturmbannfuhrer SS, a professional intelligence officer who performed Hitler"s secret tasks in different countries, is one of the most famous and mysterious personalities of the Second World War. In his memoirs, he talks about participating in the battles on the Eastern Front, about how he became the head of the formation of a special purpose and in this capacity performed an operation to liberate Mussolini, which brought him world glory and the knightly cross. The action cost large casualties, but who considers losses when the goal was achieved! Skorzeni talented, vividly and in detail describes the operations developed by him, which he himself managed, although some of them failed with a bang, which, however, did not affect his self -esteem. At the end of the war in May 1945, he surrendered to the Americans, and in July 1948 he performed another operation - he organized his own escape from the prisoner of war camp.
