The monograph on great actual material analyzes the transformation of the phenomenon of foreign Russia in the 1930s: the evolution of the legal system in relation to Russian refugees, church schism, ideological and political contradictions, the displacement of emigration from spheres, where it had previously played an independent role, reducing the demand for Russian educational establishments, Russian language, leaving everyday communication, unlucky attempts to maintain the Russian environment, despite the significant creative-creative activity and the priority of the task of preserving “historical memory”. It is shown that Russia abroad underwent not only qualitative, but also quantitative changes due to the naturalization of exiles. The study is based on a wide source base, materials of the central archives of the Russian Federation, introduces new documents into scientific circulation.
