The German military historian, the Wehrmacht Officer and General Bundeswehr Eike Middeldorf analyzes the features of conducting hostilities by the German and Soviet armies in 1941-1945, the organization and weapons of the main branches of the warring parties and the tactics of units and units. The book characterizes the completeness of systematic and generalized facts, due to which it meets the requirements for the selection of actual material for a clear representation of the purpose and tasks of the main branches of the ground forces, as well as the methods of conducting military operations in tactical framework from the battalion to the division. In their work, Middeldorf and his co -authors used the archives of the General Staff of the Supreme Command of the Wehrmacht Ground Forces, documents of the Infantry School in Deberitsa, armored schools in Wünsdorf and Bergen, military works, published in the post -war years, their personal memoirs and diary notes.
