In Russia, the memories of Rice Williams about 1917-1918 are widely known, but in the twenties he wrote an equally interesting book of essays, traveling from Arkhangelsk to the Caucasus. We present the reader her first Russian -language translation. It is impossible to call the rice of Williams an impartial author, his enthusiasm and support of the Bolshevik business were huge, he more than once or twice represent his like -minded people in advantageous light, but he should not consider this courageous person who risked the sake of revolution more than once. He was truly worried about the fate of the young Soviet Union and its citizens: ordinary peasants and former landowners, Volga Old Believers and Caucasian winemakers, communists and pioneers. Albert Rice Williams talks about their everyday life, the image of thought and dreams with great observation, love and knowledge of the matter, and therefore his testimonies retain high value to this day
