The book proposed to readers is devoted to the role of Russia and its diplomacy in the Seven Years War of 1756-1763. In this publication, on the basis of documents of the archive of foreign policy of the Russian Empire, the activities of diplomatic services are studied, the specially changing plans of the government of Empress Elizabeth Petrovna are demonstrated in a large continental conflict and, as a result, the transformation of the Russian army into the leading military force of Europe is illustrated. According to contemporaries and a wide circle of domestic and foreign literature, the author reconstructs a number of key battles of the era in detail, as well as the causes and consequences of Russia"s exit from the Seven Years War under Peter III and Catherine the Great
