There are a lot of Russians and Serbs: common Slavic roots, proximity of languages, writing and cultures, the interweaving of historical destinies. Serbs highly value the huge contribution of Russian emigration to the development of their country. Russian engineers and scientists, lawyers and doctors, cultural and art figures, military and clergymen worked faithfully for the good of the Serbian people. The most prominent figures of the Russian foreign countries worked at the Russian Scientific Institute in Belgrade: P.B. Struve, D.S. Merezhkovsky, KD. Balmont and others. At the same time, the Russians always remained Russian, maintaining an inextricable connection with the domestic culture
