Bath is an integral old element of Russian life. From time immemorial, in the Russian tradition, the bath has always been not only a place where you can wash, cleanse your body, but also a special, almost sacred structure, where not only in a physical, but also at a spiritual level occurs.
The publication contains unique texts in which the history and traditions of the Russian bath are brightly and picturesque. Some chapters of the book are devoted to the testimonies of ancient chroniclers, the memoirs of European travelers of the XVI-XVIII centuries, the works of Russian writers and historians, bath customs, beliefs and signs.
The publication is colorfully illustrated by the works of classical painting.
