New Book A.M. Velichko “Russia, the Third Rome” and the Ecumenical Church contains articles and scientific reports on the most acute and pressing issues, including the relationship between the church and the state, the content of state ideology, the internal problems of the Russian Church. Analyzing the views of the supporters of the doctrine “Moscow - the Third Rome”, the author convincingly proves that it contradicts both the scientific facts and the practical needs of the Russian state, forced, based on the postulates of “Slavophiles”, constantly sacrifice their interests in the name of speculative ideas. The second part of the collection is a set of work on canonical law and theological works, the purpose of which is to determine the basic concepts used in church law, for example, “divine law”, “personality”, “sin”, “punishment”, etc. The author also applies to such a scrupulous, acute-scabing theme as the relationship between the East Orthodox and Roman Catholic churches, proving that many accusations against Catholics are invented. And our centuries -old relations, continuing after the split of the Ecumenical Church, are much more substantial and positive than they are often trying to imagine. The work devoted to the analysis of the canonical grounds for the creation of African exarchate deserves special attention, it is concluded about the doubtfulness of this step from the point of view of the church canonical tradition.
