In his new book, a prominent politician and business leader, chairman of the Council of Ministers of the USSR in 1985-1990. N.I. Ryzhkov generously shares with readers the results of his perennial thoughts about the fate of Russia and the connection from the time with an emphasis on the Russian national idea that ensures such a connection.
Nikolai Ivanovich expressed a desire to especially distinguish the national idea, which, according to him, is not invented in the offices, is not invented in the heads - it is formed in the worldview of the Russian people. In the history of our country, the national idea had different colors and ambiguous prerequisites for development, but in general, it has always been based on such concepts as truth, justice, honesty and kindness.
In the first, largely theoretical, part of the book, the author reveals in detail the substantial components of this idea (forming, in his opinion, the next "triad": "unity", interpreted as the integrity of the country and the sovereignty of the polyetonic and multi -confessional state, " Social justice "and" public progress") and formulates its being, relevant by Maxim: "Return to Russia greatness, and Russians - a worthy life!".
The second part is not a short (albeit not comprehensive) number of essays of the distant, near and nearest past of the country, in the aggregate of which specific forms of implementation (or, conversely, suppression) of the national idea are considered in a centuries -old retrospective - from the baptism of Kievan Rus to the thorns of our post -Soviet evolution.
