Collection of documents Russia and the independence of Finland: 1899–1920. It is the result of the joint work of Finnish and Russian historians. It publishes 1358 documents (more than 42 % appear to the reader for the first time) from the GA of the Russian Federation, RGIA, RGASPI, RGAE, RGAVMF, RGVA, from the Archives of the Foreign Affairs and the AVP of the Russian Federation, the archive of the President of the Russian Federation and the National Archive of Finland. The tabs contain 130 photo documents (among them about 70 portraits of political figures in Russia and Finland), most of the collections of Finnish museums. The scientific publication is equipped with an extensive scientific and reference apparatus and applications.

The first volume of the collection of documents covers the period from the reforms of the governor N.I. Bobrikov, who caused mass protests, to change the legal status of the Grand Duchy of Finland as part of the Russian Empire. The collection presents not only new documents revealing the position of the Russian government and the Sejm of Finland, but also new plots: the work of the commissions of the State Council on Finland, the formation of a new mechanism for managing the outskirts of Russia, and the development of a new “form of government” in 1906–1907. and others. The basis of the collection compiled documents of the GA of the Russian Federation, RGIA and the Finland National Archive
