The book proposed to the attention of the reader is dedicated to the Roman army, and even wider, the Roman military organization of the period that began after the battle of Adrianopol and ended with the appearance of a "strategicon" - a military treatise, or rather a textbook intended for training officers. The book understands the issues of the organization, weapons and tactical techniques of the Roman army during three different stages of its history: at the end of the 4th-5 centuries (the time of the great relocation of peoples and the fall of the Western Roman Empire), in the first half of the VI century (rule of Justinian I), in the second half of the VI century (The time of the appearance of "strategicon").
