In August 1920, a party on the history of the party was created under the State Publishing House of the RSFSR. The work of Istapart was conducted in three directions: archival -assembly, research and public, propaganda. The collection and systematization of sources (archives, memories, profiles) were the most important tasks, a prerequisite for ensuring further scientific research. The search and identification of documents of revolutionary history acquired unprecedented wide scales.
