Chekhov notebooks, notes on separate sheets and diaries. The significance of these materials, introducing the writer into the creative laboratory, all the more great that Chekhov himself, as a rule, destroyed the draft manuscripts, reluctantly spoke of his work. He did not like to show anyone works until they were completely completed. Notes in notebooks and on separate sheets (including sketches on the turns of other people"s manuscripts) allow us to trace - although with the inevitable incompleteness - the story of writing stories, stories, plays of the 90s - early 900s - pores of his highest artistic maturity . They help to understand the features of its figurative thinking, the process of thinking and designing plans, specific techniques for working on a word, plot, composition, give the key to study the figurative and psychological context, in which the grain of the future story, the story, the play arises.
In addition, this publication includes humor, notes, articles and feuilletons of Anton Pavlovich Chekhov, related to the initial period of his literary activity, as well as an "autobiography", in which he briefly outlined the main periods of his life.
