This publication is based on the work of the outstanding Russian archivist and genealogy Sergei Vasilievich Lyubimov (1872-1935) "Titian clans of the Russian Empire", published by him in 1910 under the pseudonym Sergei Vasilievich. Having done a tremendous work on the study of the affairs of ancient clans in the Heraldry Department, Lyubimov compiled a list of all titled Russian noble surnames, indicating the origin of each of them and the time of receipt of the title.
