The monograph is an attempt to enter the addition of nations in the postcolonial countries of Asia and Africa into the World Historical and Cultural process. In his context, the essence of the nation as a phenomenon and its possible future in both Afro-Asian and global scale are considered. The author claims that in the post -colonial era that began after the Second World War, the fundamental characteristic of the nation as a community of people of the same culture, which became one of the cornerstones of the concept of the nation when it was added in the West by the last decades of the XVIII century, is changing. The migration flows generated by decolonization from the global south to the global north make the nations themselves and the concept of the nation in the countries of the North, giving them polyculture. The liberated states of Asia and Africa are initially polycultural, since the boundaries of the colonies inherited, in which, as a rule, many peoples were united.
The question is posed in the monograph, whether the initial polyculture can not become an obstacle to social development, but the advantage of Afro -Asian countries in the modern world, if they refuse to form nations in the western model of the late XVIII -not corresponding to today"s realities of the late XVIII mid -XX centuries. And they will proceed to the construction of nations as communities of polycultural.
The monograph is based on a combination of historical analysis with an analysis of field anthropological material
