The monograph describes the spread, the conditions of the occurrence, the structure and composition of phosphorytes on the underwater outskirts of continents, underwater mountains, elevations and on the islands. Particular attention is paid to the behavior in the process of phosphatonacobonia of the elements -satellites of phosphorites - uranium, rare -earth elements, cadmium, molybdenum and others, which can be an indicator of the conditions of the formation and subsequent changes in these breeds. The results of the study of the isotopic composition of oxygen and carbon in ocean phosphorites are given. A special part of the book is devoted to the problem of the genesis of phosphorytes based on modern knowledge about physics, chemistry, biology and geology of the ocean, taking into account the role of substance and energy in the system of hydrosphere-lithosphere-biosphere, which leads to the conclusion on the biogenic-diagnostic essence of the phosphatonacopolization process in the ocean
