Few powers could, like Persia, resist the onslaught of the legions of the Roman Empire and win. Ancient Persian cities, aqueducts and irrigation systems even today amaze imagination. The works of these poets and painters belong to the heights of the cultural heritage of mankind - for example, classic Persian miniatures, which are often called the most perfect of all that is created in world art. The poem of the great Firdowi "Shakhname" not only is an extensive and colorful epic, but also gave rise to a whole set of legends, including the one that tells of the ruler, which evaluated each of its line as its weight in gold. But, despite the worldwide glory of Persian poets and commanders, the history of this ancient country stores many more mysteries.
